Cop a Feel (Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters #3) by Robyn Peterman

"Outrageous, profane, hilarious, sexy and all kinds of wacky!" --Michelle Rowen, national bestselling author
When you get time off for bad behavior, romance is the last thing on your mind--but good old-fashioned lust is a whole different story. . .
Life undercover isn't exactly one big party--not when you're a DEA agent--but it sure beats a desk job. Except when you screw up big and someone has to go in and clean up after you. In that case, even paper-pushing sounds better than babysitting an erotic romance writer with as many enemies as there are euphemisms for "throbbing manhood."
I've been taking down drug dealers for so long, playing bodyguard to a woman named Shoshanna Lehump sounds like nothing more than a giant pain in my ass-- and being partnered with the gorgeous egotistical jerk I never should have slept with in the first place just makes a bad situation even harder--especially when he pursues me as diligently as we're supposed to be chasing the bad guys...What's a girl have to do to get a happy ending anyway?
"For a good time, read Robyn Peterman!" --Michelle Rowen, national bestselling author

My review:
Robyn Peterman is one of the most hilarious authors I have ever read. I read all of her books and they all made me laugh so hard I almost peed myself :) The lenghts some characters will go to to help someone or to get what they want, all the situations they find themselves in, something always manages to go awry and that mostly creates some moments you just cant help but laugh at. Cop a feel is also the last book in the Hancuffs and Happily Ever Afters series and I have to say I will miss these characters so much but mostly the trio of hotness that are Jack, Mitch and Luke and their "better halves" Rena, Kristy and Candy. Oh and Shoshanna and Rena s aunt Phyllis. These characters are all one of a kind and they all made me laugh and sometimes cry .
In this final book we have the story of Cindy, a DEA agent who is also Mitch s sister, who got the job of being a bodyguard to Shoshanna at a convention ( SCREW-con ) after almost being killed on her last assingment. She also gets partnered with Luke, the guy she had a past with who decided he doesnt want to let her go. He is not taking no for an answer and is trying to show Candy that they are perfect for each other. And I agree with him. Ms. Peterman can sure write a couple that has massive amounts of chemistry and while her books are hilarious they are also heartwarming. I am really going to miss these characters but I heard there will be more adventures in the Pirate Dave world so  I am looking forward to that. So, if you want something that will keep you entertained throughout the whole book, Cop a feel is it.

Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper

Author of the beloved Half Moon Hollow series of vampire romances (Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs), Molly Harper has created a standalone paranormal romance in which a dilapidated haunted house could bring star-crossed lovers together—if it doesn’t kill them first!

When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate—he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in nineteenth-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

But Nina shows no signs of being scared away, even as she experiences some unnerving apparitions herself. And as the two of them work closely together to restore the mansion’s faded glory, Deacon realizes that he’s found someone who doesn’t seem to like his fortune more than himself—while Nina may have finally found the one man she can trust with her bruised and battered heart.

But something on the island doesn’t believe in true love…and if Nina and Deacon can’t figure out how to put these angry spirits to rest, their own love doesn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

My review:

I adore Molly Harper s books. You know why? Because she is one of those rare authors that can make you laugh and cry at the same time. I love her writing and her characters and the storylines she comes up with, usually they are both funny and heartbreaking, and that was the case with this  book. Better homes and hauntings is the story that brings together the past and present of a family, with four different people in the center of everything and three dead people whose story was never figured out. The story begins when Nina gets a job to work on a mansion, a mansion in which Gerald and Catherine Whitney lived a hundred years ago until Catherine was murdered and Gerald blamed for it. Now, people talk about cold spots in the house, shadows moving, all those things associated with a ghost haunting. Deacon Whitney, the heir of the estate decided to renew the house and hired his friend Jake as an architect, along with Nina and Cindy with their bussinesses to work on the house too. Because there is a lot of work, they live on site and each of them has some sort of bizzare stuff happenning to them. When Deacon s cousin Dotty comes, to try and find the truth from a hundred years ago, they decide to piece together what happened through Catherine s diaries and to set the ghosts free.

Among all the ghost solving problems and a hundred year old mistery solving, my favorite part were the love stories of Nina and Deacon and Cindy and Jake. There were some really funny scenes between all of them, some really scary what with the ghosts wandering around and some romantic. I need to say that Molly Harper managed to make me fall in love with a story and her characters yet again, and I have to thank her for the laughter and the happy tears this book brought me. I look forward to her next book.

The Warrior (Dante Walker #3) by Victoria Scott

War between heaven and hell is coming, but Dante Walker makes it look damn good.

Dante’s girlfriend, Charlie, is fated to save the world. And Aspen, the girl who feels like a sister, is an ordained soldier. In order to help both fulfill their destiny and win the war, Dante must complete liberator training at the Hive, rescue Aspen from hell, and uncover a message hidden on an ancient scroll.

Dante is built for battle, but even he can’t handle the nightmares where spiders crawl from Aspen’s eyes, or the look on Charlie’s face that foretells of devastation. To make matters worse, the enemy seizes every opportunity to break inside the Hive and cripple the liberators. But the day of reckoning is fast approaching, and to stand victorious, Dante will have to embrace something inside himself he never has before—faith.

My review:

I liked this series from the start. It had many funny moments, which are my favorite, a hot bad guy, romance and supernatural beings, places... I adore both Dante and Charlie, Aspen, Blue and Annabelle, even Kraven. They all go through hell in this book but come out stronger than before because of it. In this battle of good and evil, heaven and hell, Charlie and Aspen are in the front lines since they are the savior and the soldier. Dante is still struggling with being a good guy, he is still in doubt about where he belongs and does he deserve the good things coming his way. Charlie is the good that drives the others. She believes has faith they will succeed, that good will win and she sees beauty in almost everything. She grows so much in this book and becomes a tough, no nonsense leader. There is alos betrayal in this book, something I didnt expect. And also, the battle was missing something, maybe it was a little too short after the build up through the books. Dont get me wrong, the book was good, I had fun while reading it, it is just that the first two books were better to me.
I have to say I love the writing in this trilogy, the story line and world building, especially the humor, and I am a fan of Victoria Scott. I look forward to reading Fire and Flood, and anything else she writes. It is tough to say goodbye to Dante and the gang but they all got their ending and I am happy with that.

Fan Art by Sarah Tregay book blitz (Guest post, excerpt and a giveaway)

Fan Art
Release Date: 06/17/14
Harper Teen

Summary from Goodreads:
When the picture tells the story…

Senior year is almost over, and Jamie Peterson has a big problem. Not college—that’s all set. Not prom—he’ll find a date somehow. No, it’s the worst problem of all: he’s fallen for his best friend.

As much as Jamie tries to keep it under wraps, everyone seems to know where his affections lie, and the giggling girls in art class are determined to help Jamie get together with Mason. But Jamie isn’t sure if that’s what he wants—because as much as Jamie would like to come clean to Mason, what if the truth ruins everything? What if there are no more road trips, taco dinners, or movie nights? Does he dare risk a childhood friendship for romance?

This book is about what happens when a picture reveals what we can’t say, when art is truer than life, and how falling in love is easy, except when it’s not. Fan Art explores the joys and pains of friendship, of pressing boundaries, and how facing our worst fears can sometimes lead us to what we want most.

Undercover with Sarah Tregay’s Novel Fan Art
Guest Post by Sarah Tregay

I listen to a lot of audio books, and from time to time I’ll read something on a Kindle. While both are convenient ways to get immersed in a story, I miss seeing the book itself. Because I am a graphic designer in my day job, I enjoy the little details in a printed book, such as the typeface, an illustration, or a beautiful chapter heading. Hardcover books are a treat because you can peek under the jacket and see the art on the binding.

So, in case you borrow a copy of Fan Art from your library or read it on your iPad, here is the art under the cover:

Also, Melissa DeJesus did an amazing job illustrating the graphic short story within Fan Art:

An Excerpt from Fan Art, by Sarah Tregay:
Chapter Four

No. No, no. No.
I did not just do that. I can’t believe I just did that! Mason and I have been friends since third grade, and I have never looked at him like that. Other guys, yeah, but not him. It should be in the Bible. Thou shalt not check out thy best friend.
I wait a minute to catch my breath and the last shred of my sanity before I follow Mason into the locker room. I head for the sinks and splash water onto my face in an attempt to straighten out my thoughts. I’m okay with bent thoughts—I have them all the time—but checking out Mason? That’s going too far. He’s my best friend. And everyone knows friend crushes are the worst—even guy-girl friend crushes—drama, angst, broken hearts, you name it. It’s bad—real bad. And straight-guy-gay-guy friend crushes? I don’t even want to think about that apocalypse.
I take a deep breath and watch as the water collects along my upper lip. I mouth the words, Mason. Is. Not. Cute.

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare

In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary's own brother.

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris - but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee - even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned...

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

My review:

“Temper us in fire, and we grow stronger. When we suffer, we survive.”

It is very hard to say goodbye to yet another Cassandra Clare series and the last book in The Mortal Instruments series was so amazing, I just want more. More of my favorite characters, more of the Shadowhunter world, more of that humor and that flkawless writing. I first read City of bones in 2011, 3 years ago and I fell in love, I read the next 3 in just a few days and then came the waiting for City of lost souls. From the begginning my favorite characters were Jace and Magnus. Both tortured souls who have an amazing sense of humor, they could always bring a smile to my face or make me cry.
In City of heavenly fire we meet Emma Carstairs and Julian Blacthorn in the prologue, the main characters of Cassandra Clare next series The Dark Artifices. I liked Emma from the start and I can see how she will be an amazing heroine. Many things happen in this last book. So much death, yet love, forgivness and friendship are what is most important in this book. We have a few steamy scenes between Jace and Clary, a few heartbreaking and heartwarming moments with Alec and Magnus, agonizing minutes between Jordan and Maia. There is also plenty of humor, mostly sarcasm, my favorite kind. And a betrayal for the Shadowhunters that almost destroyed them. I was crushed over a few deaths, it was truly wrecking to see so much pain in the aftermath. Sebastian is the biggest and most evil villain the Shadowhunter world has ever seen, he had a really sick mind, his obssesion with Clary in this book reached new heights. The one who really surpised me was Simon, he was really amazing in this book, he grows so much stronger and he is a true hero. His relationship with Isabelle is also so sweet and sometimes hilarious, she is an amazing girl and they are perfect for each other.
Even though this book was really long, it felt like I read it in one sitting, something was always going on, the writing was amazing as always and I really look forward to seeing Emma and Julian grown up, and little Tiberius, he was so charming to me, and to see how my favorite characters are doing in their twenties.

“The moment seventeen-year-old Samantha Thompson crawls out of her grave, her second chance at life begins. She died of cancer with her long-time boyfriend, Ethan, by her side--a completely unfair shot at life.
But Ethan found a way to bring her back, like he promised he would. Only Sam came back wrong.

She's now a monster that drains others' lives to survive. And after she kills, she’s tortured by visions—glimpses into her victims would-have-been futures had she not killed them. Barely able to live with herself and trying to make things right, Sam ends up a pawn in a vicious game of payback within the local coven of witches.

But when the game reveals what Ethan had to do to save Sam, she must make a choice that will change all their lives forever.”

My review:

As I already said in the begginning of the post, I am a fan of Kelly s books and her writing and after reading The Monster Within, that is even more true now. The story flows so easily, from the very first sentence something is happening, Sam rising from the grave, and it doesnt stop through the entire book. It didnt matter if you figured out the truth somewhere in the middle, it was still interesting to see the characters reactions. My favorite characters in this book are Ethan and Dylan. Ethan who loves Sam so much he found a way for her to live again and for them to be together, he thought of almost anything and he always tries to protect her. Dylan has such a good heart and so much forgiveness in him, he was simply amazing. The one who annoyed me was Sam. She could have stopped so many bad things from happening if she just listened to Dylan or seen Nora for who she really was. A great read..

  Better WhenHe's Bad

Amazon US ** iBooks ** Barnes and Noble ** Kobo

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point. There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter. Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way. Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced. Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad.

  Welcome to the Point

I let out the breath I was holding and took another step closer to her. The water was splashing on the sleeve of my shirt as I reached up to grab both of her cheeks in my palms. “Are you scared of me?” It was the start of the questions I had asked her what felt like a lifetime ago. Her answer didn’t change, but this time when she answered, she was holding back a smile that made my heart hurt. “Terrified, but I kind of like it now.” “Do you trust me?” My voice broke. I had never really trusted anyone but Race and now there was her and my brother and just all kinds of new things making my life so much more complicated and undeniably fuller. “With my life. I trust all the parts of you, Bax. You need to know that.” “You going to go to bed with me?” That made her outright laugh and she reached up to curl her hands around my wrists. “As often as I can and anyplace in between when the mood strikes.” The rest of the blood racing around my system went solidly south. I dropped my forehead so it was resting on hers and the water from the showerhead was cascading down around us. I was making a mess, but I didn’t care because I had her, and she was my home. “Do you love me?” The words sounded so foreign, but so right, when I was saying them to her. She brushed her full lips across mine and the last three months without her faded away. “Do you want me to lie to you or tell you the truth?” I smiled against her mouth and kissed her back twice as hard as she had kissed me. “Lie to me.” She reached up and put her arms around my neck and took a step back, dragging me all the way into the shower stall with her. The water was lukewarm at best, and it made me shiver. So did the fact that she started to impatiently pull the tail of my shirt up over my head. A task made increasingly difficult considering I was now soaked head to toe and the material was clinging to me. “Of course not. You’re the last person in the world I could love.”
