Waiting on Wednesday (93)

Slika
Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, originally created by  Breaking the Spine , that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This is my choice for this week: The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by   Namina Forna   The start of a bold and immersive West African-inspired, feminist fantasy series for fans of Children of Blood and Bone and Black Panther. In this world, girls are outcasts by blood and warriors by choice. Sixteen-year-old Deka lives in fear and anticipation of the blood ceremony that will determine whether she will become a member of her village. Already different from everyone else because of her unnatural intuition, Deka prays for red blood so she can finally feel like she belongs. But on the day of the ceremony, her blood runs gold, the color of impurity--and Deka knows she will face a consequence worse than death. Then a mysterious woman comes to her with a choice: stay in the village and submit to her fate, or leave to fig...

International blogger tag

Happy Monday! Instead of a Heart to Heart Mondays post, today I decided to do the International blogger tag, created by Booktuber    Daniela In Prague   and adapted for blogs by   Chelle’s Book Ramblings  . This is also a good replacement for a Heart to Heart Mondays post.  1) Where are you from and what is your native language or languages? I am from Croatia and my native language is Croatian. 2) In what languages do you read books? Yes, there are a lot of them, much more than when I first started blogging. Also, there was no Instagram then. That community is wonderful, I follow a lot of them on their blogs, Instagram or Facebook. I am still trying to find croatian booktubers, though.  There are links on the left sidebar to some of my favorite croatian bloggers, check them out. 4) ...

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, originally created by  Breaking the Spine , that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This is my choice for this week: Act Your Age, Eve Brown  (The Brown Sisters #3)  by   Talia Hibbert   In Act Your Age, Eve Brown the flightiest Brown sister crashes into the life of an uptight B&B owner and has him falling hard—literally. Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. No matter how hard she strives to do right, her life always goes horribly wrong—so she’s given up trying. But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding (someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. It's time for Eve to grow up and prove herself—even though she's not entirely sure how… Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry—and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a...
