Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson #7) by Darynda Jones (Review in GIFs)

Slika
Summary: Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out the jugular of Charley Davidson and serve her lifeless, mangled body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life. A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to ...

Heart to Heart Mondays (5): Plans for Halloween and scary book recommendations

Slika
I adore Halloween.. Here in Croatia it is not as big a deal as it is in USA but we are slowly getting there. There are more parties every year, more people in costumes and if it werent for the people who pray for our lost souls in church every Halloween, it would be great. I have a little Halloween tradition, I watch the entire Season 2 of Supernatural all day and night, with a little bit of snacks and wine but this year I am probably going out since it is my best friends birthday. And I will be in costume.. Lady Beetlejuice :) I also just started watching American Horror Story: Asylum and this is my first season of watching the show. There is no show more appropriate for the month of October.. It is super scary, bizzare, bloody, disturbing and full of great acting      Now, I also have a few Halloween book recommendation for you, some I have read and some I will be reading this week for the first time. Here we go: Sookie Stackhouse se...

Quote of the week (5)

Slika
The quote of this week comes from a series that is in my top 3 favorites of all time and the seventh book in the series was as awesome as the rest. I am always in awe of Darynda Jones and her writing, the world she built and the characters she created are just perfect so this week s quote is  from Seventh Grave and no Body. If you havent started this series yet, what are you waiting for ?! Still covered in duct tape, he turned on his side to face me, his flesh straining against the binds. “You would tell me if something were wrong, right?” “What do you mean? Of course, I would.” “So, if you knew something could happen to you, you’d let me know.” Where was he going with this? “Yes. Nothing is going to happen to me. Well, unless the Twelve get ahold of me. Other than that, I should be fine.” He nodded in thought. “Reyes, what is it?” “I think you keep secrets from me.” “You keep secrets from me,” I said, teasing. “Seems only fair.” Goodreads / Amazon / B ...

You can check out Nazarea's comments on those chapters below.   THE WORLD WITHOUT A FUTURE - CHAPTERS 41-45 by Nazarea Andrews The first chapter we have today is a quiet moment with Nurrin and Finn. There’s the snarky back and forth, but it’s also as close to gentle as Finn ever gets. And then we see how angry Omar can make Finn, and how little he trusts the other man. We see a hint of what happened between Omar and Finn and how it includes the mysterious Kelsey. On the way back to Haven 18, we see a couple things: one is the first line of chapter 9: The truck feels like home. ...
