Blog tour: Sentinel (Covenant #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout - Apollyon day + GIVEAWAY

I am super excited to be a part of the Sentinel tour because Covenant is one of my favorite series and I am glad to be able today to spotlight Apollyon, my favorite book of the series so far. So enjoy my favorite quotes from the book and my old review.

Book summary

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

My old  review

I know that I am repeating myself when I say that I adore Jennifer L. Armentrout but I think it is necessary to acknowledge her greatness before I go on about how much is this book awesome. Because it is. She always manages to completely shock me and make me experience a buckload of emotions while reading her books. Apollyon, as the next to last book in Covenant series, kicks-ass. I thought that nothing could surpass the awesomeness that was Deity but I was glad to be wrong yet again. Alex is such a strong character and I absolutely love her. Her humor, courage, loyalty and strenght make her one of the best book heroines, at least to me. Aiden is still an almost perfect guy and I kept falling in love with him more with every sentence. Apollyon is filled with love, heartache, determination, blood, death, tears and grief yet there is also hope. Cant see what happens next with Alex, Aiden, Seth, Deacon, Apollo and the others in Sentinel. I am terrified to know how JLA will end the series.

My favorite quotes

1. “We had no idea what waited ahead of us, other than the big, fat unknown, and most likely a big, fat kick in the face. The gravity of that was killing me-killing us

I squared my shoulders. "Release the Kraken!"

Several sets of eyes settled on me.

"What?" I gave a lopsided shrug. "I've always wanted to yell that since I saw that movie. Seemed like the perfect moment.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, Apollyon

2. “By the way," Aiden said casting me a long look that had me totally forgetting the seriousness of our mission. "You look damn good in a Sentinel uniform."

A hot flush that had nothing to do with embarrassment spread over me. "So do you."

"I know.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, Apollyon

3. “Whatever you do, don't break my brother's heart. You are his world. And if you leave it, it will destroy him.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, Apollyon

4. “And that was the thing about truths and secrets. Sometimes the truth didn't need to be known. The lie was healthier than the truth and, while some secrets could set people free, other secrets could destroy them.”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, Apollyon

5. “Go ahead," Apollo said to Luke. "Tell them what it is, since it's obviously hugging material."
Crimson stained Luke's cheeks. "Legend goes that one of the gates to hell is in Stull Cemetery in Kansas."
"Oh, gods," I muttered, remembering where I'd heard this before. "Wasn't that a season finale on Supernatural?" When the boys nodded, my eyes rolled. "Seriously? Are Sam and Dean going to be there?”
― Jennifer L. Armentrout, Apollyon

For JLASo much of your personality comes out in the snark in your books and Apollyon is no exception.  Which character has the most of you in them?  Probably Alex.

For AlexAs far as I can tell, Aiden is just about perfect.  What are your thoughts on the matter?  I don’t think anyone could be more perfect than Aiden.

For AidenThis journey has been full of so many close calls.  When were you most concerned that you would lose Alex?  I can’t even answer that question because Alex is always scaring me.  It seems like I’m never there to protect her or I’m locked on the other side of the door.

For CalebWhat was it like for you, seeing Alex again?  I wanted to see Alex, she’s my best friend, just not where we were reuniting.
