With all my soul (Soul screamers #7) by Rachel Vincent

Summary:

What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...

After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.

But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has....

My review:

“Your mortal attachments are like a puppet’s strings," Avari said, both hands clasped casually at his back. "One need only pluck the right cord to make the puppet dance." His smile was almost creepier than his threats. "Dance, reaper!”
― Rachel Vincent, With All My Soul

Yet another one of my favorite series ending, once again making me say goodby to my favorite characters and one of my favorite book worlds ever created. Ever since I read the fisrt book in Soul screamers series, I knew that this will be the series that will stay forever with me. Through all the seven books we see Kalyee grow and mature and become an amazing person who knows what she is willing to sacrifice for her family and friends, to ensure their safety. After everything that happend to her in previous books, including her death, you would think she deserves a little break. Well, apparently not. Amidst her wonderful relationship with Tod, repairing her friendship with Nash and becoming real friends with Sabine, while also helping Emma to cope with the aftermath of Before I wake, Avari si still a big threat and he is determined to have Kaylee's soul. We see our favorite characters fight the hellion of greed with every step of the way, making a lot of sacrifices, meeting unexpected new "allies" in the form of hellion of wrath all while trying to have a semi-normal high-school experience. My heart broke for Kaylee, to see her deal with all her anger and despair, and in the end the ultimate sacrifice. Of course, I sobbed a lot while reading the last 3 chapters nearly killed me, although the last brought happy tears to my eyes and I have to say I am happy how Rache Vincent decided to end the series, she really is one of my favorite authors and an mazing writer and world builder.
Like with all series-ending books, I am sadm to say goodbye but I couldn't be more happy with how it all ended so it warms my heart everyone got what they deserve. So a special goodbye to my favorite reaper Tod, and to Kaylee, nash, Sabine, Emma, Luca, Sophie, Aiden, Brendon and Harmony. It was a pleasure :)
