Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) by Nalini Singh ( ARC review + playlist)
Summary:
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh stuns with a sizzling contemporary romance…
A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…
Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.
A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…
Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…
Expected publication: September 9th 2014
My review:
I liked this book. True, it was not as amazing as I expected from the writer who write Raphael, Illium, Dmitri and Jason into existence but it was good nonetheless. I always love stories with rock stars, romance stories with timid virgins who fall in love with a bad boy.. It is cliche but in this case it was done great. One of the things I didnt like was the insta-love. They looked at each other across the room and that was it.
That is one of my biggest pet peeves in books but somehow it didnt make me hate the book. Fox and Molly somehow worked great together in spite all the obstacles thrown their way and with both of them battling demons from the past. I loved the secondary characters like David and Thea, Noah and Abe but especially Molly s best friend Charlotte and her antics with her boss T-Rex. I hope there will be their story somewhere in the future. The writing is as always great but there where things missing. Sure, there were no unecessary drama but maybe a little bit would be great. I hope the next book, Rock Courtship, David and Thea s story, has a little bit more flair, but all in all Rock addiction is a good and entertaining read.
And here is my playlist with lyrics. All great rock and alternative songs, to me they represent all the moments from Rock Addiction. Enjoy :)
Is it a waste of time, please tell me if you mind
Me dipping into useless sentimentality
A rant on how things used to be when this shit was free
I answered my own question, I can hear the crickets yawning
Oh how he crossed us on that fate your path in my own satellite
What a mess a little time makes to us when time and place collide
Let's go walk to the border
Let's go walk along the inch
Let's go when no one can see us
And find the difference between us
You can cry like a baby
Just let me do what I need to
It might be to me or to you
Just let me do what I need to
Fever, can you hear me?
Fever, can you hear me?
You shook me like I've never been
Now show me how to live again
Used to be a blessing
But fever's got me stressing
Realize I am to blame
But fever let me play the game
Fever
I must admit
I can't explain
Any of these thoughts racing
Through my brain
It's true
Baby I'm howlin' for you
The touch of fall has reached us again
Our hearts are covered by the endless rain
Accept our fate, don't say anything
I'll hold until we fade away
The whole world turns to grey
We are fading away from this life
You and me, we will be
Part of the autumn harmony
Together sleeping the endless dream
Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying, "Lord, I just don't care."
But you've got the love I need To see me through
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough
And things go wrong no matter what I do
Now and then it seems that life is just too much
But you've got the love I need to see me through
Have you got colour in your cheeks?
Do you ever get that fear that you can't shift
The type that sticks around like something in your teeth?
Are there some aces up your sleeve?
Have you no idea that you're in deep?
I dreamt about you nearly every night this week
How many secrets can you keep?
'Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think of you somehow and I play it on repeat
Until I fall asleep
Spilling drinks on my settee
(Do I wanna know)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sort of hoping that you'd stay
(Baby we both know)
That the nights were mainly made for saying things that you can't say tomorrow day
Raspusti kosu
Poglasni muziku
Prasnjavi eksponat
Muzeja prekinutih veza
Bojim se da...
Da nas ne razdvoje i rastope
Mi smo propali par muzeja vostanih figura
Kad rasplace gudalo zice
Tremolo u meni sve ono najbolje polomi
