Soul screamers series by Rachel Vincent + Before I Wake Mini-Reading Challenge
My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers #1)
Summary:
She doesn't see dead people. She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next.
My review:
This book is fantastic! I always loved Rachels writing but with this book, which is an amazing start of the series, she simply ensnared me. I love Kaylee, she is a great character. She isnt perfect and that is why I love her. Nash is ok, I remember whe I first read the book that I didint see him with Kaylee forever. This book is action packed, funny and full of wonderful character that will pull you into the story and make you sweat to see what adventure would the stumble upon next.
My Soul to Save (Soul Screamers, #2) Summary: |
When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.
So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn’t wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can’t cry for someone who has no soul.
The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad’s ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend’s loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can’t possibly understand.
Kaylee can’t let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk...
My review:
Amazing series! I loved the characters developement, especially I loved more of Tod in this book. Kaylee grows as a person and we see how strong she really is. The main story, trying to save Addy and her sister, is interesting and leaves you nervous til the end.Although I love the main character in this series, Nash is just not "it" for me.
My Soul to Keep (Soul Screamers, #3) Summary: Kaylee has one addiction: her very hot, very popular boyfriend, Nash. A banshee like Kaylee, Nash understands her like no one else. Nothing can come between them.Until something does.Demon breath. No, not the toothpaste-challenged kind. The Netherworld kind. The kind that reallycan kill you. Somehow the super-addictive substance has made its way to the human world. But how? Kaylee and Nash have to cut off the source and protect their friends—one of whom is already hooked. And so is someone else… My review: When you strat re_reading one of your favorite series, you see why you loved them to begin with. Third book in the Soul screamers series is an amazing and emotional read, at least for me. So much is happening in this book, and some of that stuff left my jaw on the floor. I was disappointed in some of the characters and by some I was pleasantly surprised. I must say though that Kaylee is truly a great literary heroine. My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers #4)
Summary:
Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.
See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives. And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.
My review:
In the fourth part of the SS series we are introduced to a new Character- Nashs ex Sabine. I must say- I loved her. She is funny and determined and really loves Nash.Although I was never his biggest fan,I must say that I think he would be really happy with Sabine, and deep down he knows it. So much was going on in this book and it was pretty nervwrecking.Kaylee has some heavy decisions to make.
If I Die (Soul Screamers #5)
Summary:
The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee's no ordinary high-school junior. She's a banshee—she screams when someone dies.
But the next scream might be for Kaylee. Yeah—it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend's needy ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren't quite human, either. But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life. Anything.
My review:
It blew me away. So much stuff happening, so many emotions. It is just great. Something I have been waiting to happen from the beggining of the series finally happened and I couldn have been happier. The end was wonderful, I was crying so hard I couldnt see straight. I just hope Nash comes around. Cant wait to read BIW to see what will happen next and how all the characters will deal with the aftermath of If I die.
